Ngāi Tahu Property is pleased to confirm that the public car park at the corner of St Asaph Street and Hagley Ave is on track to open before the end of the year.
Ngāi Tahu Property General Manager Blair Forgie says that when completed, this car park will offer approximately 450 parking spaces within easy walking distance of the Christchurch Hospital and Hagley Park.
“The car park will be open 24/7 to reflect the needs of the likely users.”
The seven-storey building will have 11 mobility parking spaces, and four fast-charging stations for eight electric vehicles. There are also bike racks in a covered area on the ground floor.
“We are looking forward to providing this essential infrastructure to the community,” Blair says.
This project is a partnership involving Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri Rūnanga, Rau Paenga (formerly Ōtākaro), Ngāi Tahu Property, and Te Whatu Ora Waitaha.
